Acadia Homes & Condos in the South of Calgary offer incredibly easy access to Chinook Center for shopping and Downtown Calgary, and also has close proximity to the LRT. Property Types in Acadia

The majority of real estate in Acadia was developed in the early 1960s, which is evident in the bungalow-style homes that are seen along the winding roads and cozy cul-de-sacs. Most homes for sale in Acadia are single-family dwellings that come in all sizes, including two and three stories in them. Many buyers in the area have upgraded their interiors to reflect modern trends, which has undeniably made the community all that more attractive to families with children.

Homeowners in this community enjoy large yards, landscapes with mature trees, and streets that are wide and quiet. Those who have homes that border Willow Park Golf & Country Club, in particular, have spacious lots that overlook the course and built with elegance and luxury.

For the rest of the community, the affordable price points and versatility in properties have made it one of the most desired places to own real estate in Acadia. From homes with 2 bedrooms to four or more, there’s something to appeal to every homebuyer in the area. With great parks, close access to major roadways, and single-family homes, as well as townhouses, are for sale, it has everything residents need to live a comfortable life.

Acadia Neighbourhood Amenities and Highlights

Unlike other communities in southeast Calgary, Acadia is home to 9 private, public, charter, and bilingual schools. These offer the many families who reside in the neighbourhood with a convenient place to take their children without having to go far away from home.

When children are not in school, they can take advantage of the many playgrounds and meadows that are available to enjoy throughout the grounds. The Acadia Recreation Complex (ARC) also offers a fun place to hang out, as it's equipped with curling sheets, squash and racquetball courts, an indoor hockey rink, and meeting/conference rooms for after-school clubs.

The Acadia Community Association is the soul of Acadia as it’s responsible for promoting a healthy community by engaging residents to get to know each other through social and recreational events. They host things like book clubs for teens, spring clean-up for families, skate parties, winter carnivals, geoscience festivals, and safety courses.

Ample shopping is available near the community of Acadia, especially with the close proximity it has to major roadways such as Deerfoot Trail, Blackfoot Trail, and Macleod Trail.

The Southcentre Mall, in particular, is one of the best opportunities for finding everything you need, as it’s equipped with a food court, boutiques, jewellery stores, and hundreds of other shops. Also, minutes away is the Chinook Centre and Deerfoot Meadows, both which have cafes, grocery stores, and many other conveniences that save time.

Most residents in Acadia get around by driving on the major roadways, but there’s also a Light Rail Transit System located along Macleod Trail heading north to Downtown Calgary and south towards Somerset. This is a reliable source of transportation during the winter and for those who do not want to own a vehicle. It can take riders to downtown, nearby communities, the mountains, and many other areas throughout Calgary. Residents who desire to drive in the future can use the nearby Calgary Auto Mall to find a vehicle, as it’s one of the largest vehicle lots in the area.

Many buyers choose Acadia because it’s close to the Bow River but also many major roadways that make travelling a breeze. For those who don’t want to spend a lot of time driving or riding just to get to the grocery store, this is an ideal location.
