The neighbourhood of Abbeydale is located in the east of Calgary, it is considered as a part of the northeast neighborhoods of the city of Calgary. It has existed since the late 1970s and was built up to become the community we now know today in the middle of the 1980s. Homes in this community have large lots and have a similar feel to several inner city communities. The boundaries of Abbeydale are defined by the Trans-Canada highway, Stoney Trail, 68th St NE, and the CPR tracks.

Taking a look at the population of Abbeydale will give you a better understanding of how the neighbourhood could work for you. The community is made up of over 6000 residents, all living in a large variety of styles and of options for homes. The main choice for most buyers are the single-family homes while there are also a few duplexes and townhomes to be found in within the neighbourhood as well. The normal household average income here makes slightly less than the population of other communities. We also found a demographic of at least 35% immigrants, which is not centred around any one single nationality or ethnicity. The community is highly favourable for families, the normal household having younger children at home. The community is slightly less educated than other Calgarian communities with a significant portion holding anything higher than a high school diploma or equivalent. The community does attract some longevity, with a large majority of the residents in the area consistently living in Abbeydale for over 5 years. Many residents have a claim to a longer history than that as well though. 

The Abbeydale Community Association is considered to be the sole reason for that longevity, as they do tremendous work in retaining the people who presently live here. The association offers a voice for those living here, and it offers a chance to connect with your neighbors.
